Several Stories on the women’s basketball team team have come out ahead of today’s media day at 3pm.

I will give you a full run down on everything after said media day but here are a few things that we at the IDS are tracking:

1. Sophomore Lindsay Enterline will miss the entire season with a knee injury.

2. The team will hold walk-on tryouts on Oct. 14.

3. Coach Katie Abrahamson-Henderson held a mini clinic Twin Lakes Recreation Center on Oct. 6.

I will update all of these stories later on today as well as any other information that comes out of media day.

As promised here are the updates from the above stories after going to media day:

1. In reguards to Enterline’s injury Coach Jack had this to say:

“Lindsay is going to be out for the year, she blew her knee out on a move to the basket. Unfortunately their is nothing we can do about that.”

2. In terms of the tryouts Coach Jack said this:

“Their are 38,000 students (at IU) and we believe their is some women’s basketball player out their that really can help grow our women’s basketball program.”

3. Coach Katie Abrahamson-Henderson had this to say about her camp:

“It was a kick of for the Twin Lakes Recreation Center and they are starting little league basketball. We went out their and had a lot of fun with younger kids who were 6 to 11 year old boys and girls.”

Other information came out of media day as well. There is no way I can get into everything so I will focus on the expectations for this year’s team.

1. Coach Jack said she expects alot from her team this year:

“It is always our goal to get to the NCAA’s and always our goal to win a national title.”

2. Junior college transfer Hope Elam said:

“I think we will do well this year. We are a fast team where we can get up and run so I think we are going to be a great team.”

3. Senior Jamie Braun said:

“We should be set for the NCAA tournament but it will take a lot of hard work.”

4. Junior captain Jorie Davis said:

“We can always get better. We want to steal some games against ranked teams and get better and improve on our record each year.”
