IU gets commitment from 3-star tight end

By Alex McCarthy | Staff reporter

Evan Jansen, a tight end from Moeller High School in Cincinnati, has had IU as his top school for a while, but took his interest to a new level Tuesday when he verbally committed to play at IU in 2013.

Jansen is rated as a three-star prospect by Rivals.com, and is the second member of IU’s 2013 recruiting class. He joins fellow three-star recruit Isaac Griffith, a wide receiver from Homestead High School in Forte Wayne, Ind. Griffith committed on June 11.

The 6-foot-5, 240-pound Jansen last visited IU on June 12 and has visited other schools since then, but ended up choosing IU. He had offers from Air Force, Harvard and Western Kentucky, among others.

His Moeller football team finished 9-4 during his junior season. Jansen caught five passes for 90 yards, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.

This blog still beats the hell out of all the other blogs around, particularly Hoosier Scoop.

Liked this pic very very much!

These rankings mean squat ….We must trust Coach Wilson ..5-star..4-star..3-star..? Who cares? We need to be patient. You have to be around pigskin for a few decades to understand how this stuff works. Sometimes guys don’t show their real potential until they’re in the hands a great coach like KW…We all have such short term memory….A blogger named Tsao over on Hoosier Scoop rrefreshed me on some recent football historry about this one starr QB that turned out pretty damn good….He just needed the rright coach.

There is nothing like the magic that happens at THE Basketblog..They can call it Hype, but the old ghosts, the castaways, the pirates, shall forever haunt in the happiness every word now a memory whistling through the palms and warming my heart made of warm white sand in the freedom our rebellious spirits this lovely island..

Bart Starr? Star Bart..? Steve Bartman……It’s the heart of summer…The sun is toasting the worshipers of Wrigley. Cubs have won 7 of their last 9…Never a more appropriate hour to raise a glass of wine to the trials and torrents of time…A Bartman dedication. Remember this one?

Posted by Lard of the Thighs at 3:03 pm on July 5, 2012

I always wondered what tune was pumping into Bartman’s headset before his deep concentration was broken by casual interruption a silly-minded free baseball heading his way ….I bet it was a happy pill song.

You’re making me blush…or is it flush? Anyway, I appreciate the compliments on the pics.

How’s your summer going? I love summer, but it also brings sadness. It seems to move so quickly…It fools you in its warm long days of light and frolic. The spring is too budding and young and the fall soon hints the winter to come..Only does the summer allow you to lift the weight of any thought away.. to look forward more than past . So intoxicating it frees the spirit ..like a first glance a love at first sight to ever last…the heart is alive its strongest beat for truly forgetting the sun be cast a wrongful act this foolish play..for not its duty to remind us only hours in our only day.

Have a great summer.

Oh, why not….?

Posted by it's official! at 3:43 pm on July 6, 2012

there’s a summer song about your pics….

Posted by Lard of the Thighs at 4:07 pm on July 6, 2012

^Now that was clever..And I always loved the soulful sound of Donna Summer.

I’m confused…Is this the same “it’s Official” that goes after me like a pit bull on Scoop?

Posted by swooshinspoof at 5:07 pm on July 6, 2012

of course not. this is the original, never to be duplicated “it’s official!”

Posted by Lard of the Thighs at 5:25 pm on July 6, 2012

Here’s something never duplicated with a bit more splash that “it’s official.”.

Posted by Lard of the Thighs at 5:36 pm on July 6, 2012

Keep in mind it’s still a work in progress.

This one qualifies….”Summertime” can be found in the vibe…. and in the lyrics.

“Summertime will be a love-in there.”
