Turner signs with Eagles

By Max McCombs | IDS Managing Editor and Men's Basketball Beat Writer

Posted at 10:37 pm on July 25, 2011 | | | Comments (44)

Former IU wide receiver Terrance Turner wasted little time after the conclusion of the NFL lockout early Monday agreeing to a deal with the Philadelphia Eagles.

NFL teams could begin talking to undrafted free agents such as Turner at 6 p.m. Monday. The two sides reached a deal after only a few hours.

The Eagles run a WEst Coast offensive system that should suit Turner’s talents well.

The 6-foot-3-inch, 210 pound Turner had 67 catches for 681 yards and three touchdowns last fall in his senior season with the Hoosiers.

Keep checking Hoosier Hype for the latest updates on IU sports and see Thursday’s edition of the IDS for more coverage.

Max McCombs is a senior majoring in journalism. He currently serves as a men's basketball beat writer and IDS managing editor. He has previously served as sports editor, national sports columnist, and covered football, wrestling, and women's tennis.

Just a normal day at Scoop…Hugh and Dustin carrying out the orders during the sighting of a Downing IP address.

Track 67(for Hugh)

Here’s another frisbee for ya, Downing, that I will toss flat-footed. You have caught yourself in a small contradiction (I confess that contradictions are part-and-parcel with the blogosphere; you have caught many of mine with your lockbox skills).

You seem so genuine and sincere with your goodwill towards the cause of the Clippers. Yet it is ironic that such eagerness, optimism, and vision for the future is absent in your diatribes against your own IU flesh-and-blood. You waste blogspace with blessings of hope and love for one of the worst NBA franchises of all time, while simultaneously lambasting the Big 10’s version of the Clippers: the Indiana Hoosiers. How can someone who entertained us with optimistic predictions of an 18-12 season a few months ago jump ship into the black and stormy seas of pessimism and despair? Heck, If I were an angry and hungry white whale, and you fell into the water, you’d be so bitter and shriveled that I wouldn’t even eat you -better to engage in the futile pursuit of bottom-dwelling crab and lobster than to eat a salty, moldy old captain

You are supposed to be the one who fights through the storm and feels the presence of land, even when the crew members threaten with mutiny. You are supposed to be the guiding wind whose posts give us all reason to keep sailing. Instead, you seem more concerned with being Bloggin Cochran again: defending those who you perceive as unfair victims. Again, you simply confirm the accusation of being a “personality worshipper” rather than a team supporter.

How ironic. Both Remora and Downing begin to feel remorseful about their treatment of Hugh at the exact…same… time. Again, how ironic. What a coincidence. One more of a string of not-so-coincidental coincidences that keep Husky naively believing that Remora and Downing are separate entities.

… and the top headline news Hugh missed:

1. The Ultimate Entertainer is finally released.

Posted by Lord of the Entity at 12:19 pm on July 27, 2011

Remora-

You are one hell of a brilliant entity. Though it looks like your entity may have gotten just a tad bit overexcited..It happens to the best of us….I practice safe image linking and always wear comfortable CHETS © on my entity .

Posted by Lord of the Entity at 12:29 pm on July 27, 2011

Remora’s favorite tune…(particularly after viewing Hugh in his “Save Scoop Now” pose)

Track 69

Posted by Sandra D at 12:50 pm on July 27, 2011

Any Friday night…a rather disturbing look at Sandra ‘D’ in the boudoir. OMG! Is that Husky, Remora, JPat, and Pandahugh?

Posted by Final Release at 1:25 pm on July 27, 2011

Easy there cowboy..You’re dumping quite a wad at Scoop..Was that your “final release?” You’re going to give them reason to Husky’s preferred system(subscription site for only non-cheapskates or some House of Pollyannas similar to ITH where you need to log in validated by Crean ’s sister-Alexandra Bizitch) . Then what? We just play with ourselves over here?

I’m not sure if this track has already been played(originally a coachv dedication) , but I find it appropriate given Remora’s state of excitation. A goodbye song from Chris Engelbert Hughmperdink?

Track 70

Posted by men in black at 1:32 pm on July 27, 2011

That was just a test. Carry on, now. The Scoop is as safe as ever. Nothing to see here. Yawn.

Posted by The entity identity at 1:50 pm on July 27, 2011

They really should give serious consideration to changing the name of this website.

Posted by Corona Extra at 3:28 pm on July 27, 2011

Remora-

Truth be told, your images are phenomenal. I’m just jealous…My favorite is still ‘The Face’ magazine cover with Crean in the “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” shot in the corner..I just spontaneously crack up every time I see it. There’s a ton of fun in that cover..including the “VJ quits, claims to be the next ‘American Idol’.”

.It’s not as easy you make it look..Aside from the great laughs and the creative thinking that goes into your works, the positioning of artwork and copy produces a product that looks very professional. If you’re not already in some form of advertising/graphics job, you could easily take a career down that avenue…

Now you can get back to your siesta.

And the original picture (for after hugh know who removes it from the Scoop). This is yet another example in the category “top ten headline news Hugh would never (in a million years) break”.

Crean’s Official Tweeting Chair

P.S.

Hugh at Border’s was out of the park. You’re absolutely genius.

Posted by Good Golly, Miss Molly at 8:17 am on July 31, 2011

The Border’s Hugh was my second favorite of all time. My true favorite is Drac-Hugh-la, which is rumored to exist somewhere on the Hoosier Hype but hasn’t been found yet; some say that one of the Russian bloggers posted it.

My third favorite is the Entertainer.

Husky talks IU football on Track 71

Posted by Distant heavens shall never know at 3:16 pm on July 31, 2011

Nothing to see here……
(until Remora posts another SPECTACULARLY STUPENDOUS EUPHORICALLY MARVELOUS INGENIOUS BRILLIANT UNBELIEVABLE SUPER-DUPER BESTEST EVER UNFORGETTABLY HUGELY HUGE EARTH-SHATTERING ORGASMIC IMAGE BORN OF THE MOST CREATIVE AND UNRIVALED MAGNIFICENT MIND FOREVER UNIVERSALLY UNCHALLENGED UNTIL THE SUN NO LONGER BURNS OR SHINES ITS LIGHT UPON DISTANT HEAVENS WE SHALL NEVER KNOW……. blah…blah…blah…WE NEED MORE CALGON…) .
So, instead, impotent, and unworthy to stand in shadows a cybergod , Downing, will simply post another YouTube song.

Track 72

Posted by Hugh-zher Mourning at 10:19 am on August 1, 2011

Downing,

You are too kind. Remora says the cybergod is as always in the eyes of the beholder. In addition any and all of the pictures you and Husky have seen posted here are inspired by what you and Husky have posted here — so you’re both charged with “aiding and abetting,” that’s for sure. I just got an idea about a Drac-hugh-la pic might post it later this week. Very busy days, did not find much time to post, not even to thank you for your most generous comments. By the way, Crean’s official tweeting chair, now that was sheer genius (like the autographed copy of the Bible posted a couple of weeks back). You’re still the best, you’re still #1 — there was never even the remotest doubt about that.

Posted by rolling on the floor with laughter... at 5:10 pm on August 1, 2011

I just saw “Chansons originales par Remora and Downing V” and it cracked me up. Absolutely genius.

Monsieur Le 5eme est toujours le meilleur!

Chapeau!

Posted by Nothing from a Nothing at 8:24 pm on August 1, 2011

Thanks a lot. I’m glad it brought you laughter and a bit of return of favor all that you’ve provided with your unmatched cleverness. I had a blast making it. I still got nothin’ on you, Remora. Absolutely nothing! Wouldn’t have been marvelous to have had the joy of watching the real Harry Houdini perform? What a cool one-of-a-kind man. ….

Track 73

Posted by Hughskie Tom at 1:56 pm on August 2, 2011

It’s high time for a re-post of the famous Wilson photo where he shouts, “Hey homely! Easy on the pancakes!”

Posted by true grit at 5:12 pm on August 2, 2011

Hugh has promised a good-bye letter but I don’t think he’ll write it. It would mean sharing with us at least some of the truth.

Posted by Feeble dweeble at 5:26 pm on August 2, 2011

^Korman’s look is priceless…nose in the air; makes a lot of sense. As for Hugh, you chose the correct body, but he could have used some longer hair.

Dustin looks like the true Butch Cassidy that he is.

Posted by Rooster Cogburn at 6:02 pm on August 2, 2011

Fantastic! Crean never looked more studly! The patch worn over the eyeglasses captures the essence…Remora, never to be outdone, instantly knocks HUGHDINI off his very short-lived podium and makes this weak attempt to satisfy a Husky request seem rather pointless…Here it is nonetheless..

Posted by Downing's 5th at 6:40 pm on August 2, 2011

Wish you guys the best.

Posted by Pizza What? at 9:18 am on August 4, 2011

The pancakes just keep getting better and better^.

Hey, since you never made Drachughla, can you make a picture of Jesper Parnevik with Dustin’s head on it?
