Kentucky Nightmare; Bear's Place

Tuesday, 11 PM

Kentucky Nightmare specializes in melodramatic folk pop. At least, that's what they call their genre on their Myspace profile. They're also fighting a class action lawsuit for melting over 1,000,000 faces, according to the band's official website. With this kind of active legal social life it's a miracle that these Bloomington natives have even had the time to perform, much less produce their debut album. "Take Her Favour" sounds like three guys noodling around in someone else's basement, which may or may not be the desired-effect, though it's deprecating lyrics "If you don't shut your mouth/ I swear to God/ I'm going to be gone awhile" delivered in the dry, candid voice of singer Simon P. Moore, produce a certain whimsy. The band, along with Golden Bloom, will be performing tomorrow night at Bear's Place.
