Yeasayer have gone through a considerable metamorphosis in only two albums. Their debut, "All Hour Cymbals," was artsy and folky, with plenty of cultural tourism thrown in. I wasn't a big fan of it; the songs just seemed a bit bland and never distinguished themselves. Then came their second album, "Odd Blood." This was the album that got me hooked on Yeasayer. They added plenty of synthesizers into the mix, plus a bit of funk. Suddenly they sounded like the best synth/dance pop of the '80s, instead of David Byrne's leftovers. I've seen Yeasayer at Lollapalooza and they were excellent, so their show Thursday night at The Bluebird should not disappoint.
