Little 500 qualifying schedule released

The first major step for the men's and women's cycling teams toward winning the BorgWarner Trophy begins Saturday with Little 500 team qualifications.Qualifying lineups were determined Monday at the Little 500 Quals Time Selection Meeting where Saturday's qualifying schedule was determined.FIJI will be the first team to qualify at 8:00 a.m.

HALFTIME: IU 24, Belmont 21

After one half of play, IU leads Belmont 24-21 in the first round of the WNIT. Freshmen guards Larryn Brooks and Taylor Agler had nine points each for the Hoosiers, leading all scorers. Junior forward Jordyn Luffman led the Bruins with seven points. The Hoosiers started out well, leading by as many as 10.

IU faces Belmont in WNIT opening round

IU welcomes Belmont to Assembly Hall tonight at 7 p.m. in the opening round of the 2014 Women's National Invitation Tournament looking to secure its first postseason win since 2009. This year marks the seventh time IU has competed in the WNIT and the first since the 2009 season.

IU women to play in WNIT

For the first time since 2009, IU women's basketball is dancing. IU has been selected to play in the 2014 WNIT Tournament as an at-large bid.

FINAL: Michigan State defeats IU 76-56

No. 21 Michigan State defeated IU 76-56, securing the Hoosiers a No. 10 seed and an opening-round Big Ten Tournament matchup against Michigan on Thursday. IU trailed 38-26 at halftime, and Michigan State came out of the halftime break firing.

Hoosiers in second at Big Ten Championships

After two days of competition, the men's swimming and diving team is in second place at the Big Ten Championships. They trail Michigan by 92 points and Ohio State, Penn State and Minnesota round out the top five. Senior diver Darian Schmidt is the 1-meter springboard champion.

FINAL: Minnesota 73, IU 62

Freshman center Amanda Zahui B. scored 26 points and grabbed 19 rebounds to lead Minnesota to a 73-62 victory over IU. Freshman guard Alexis Gassion lead IU with a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds. The Hoosiers fall to 18-10, 5-10 in Big Ten play, while Minnesota improves to 18-11, 7-8 in Big Ten play. Minnesota trailed for most of the second half until senior guard Sari Noga hit back-to-back 3-pointers with seven minutes and 43 seconds remaining.

After one half of play, Minnesota leads IU 30-29. Gophers freshman center Amanda Zahui B leads all scorers with 13 points on 66.6 percent shooting from the field.

FINAL: IU defeats Illinois 79-61

IU opened its game against Illinois on a 20-5 run and didn't look back, defeating the Illini 79-61. The Hoosiers built a 15 point early thanks to some quick hands.

HALFTIME: IU leads llinois 43-26

At halftime, IU leads Illinois 43-26. IU opened the game on a 20-5 run. The Hoosiers created four steals in the opening 6:51, leading to 13 points off turnovers. Illinois responded with a 7-0 run of its own to cut IU's lead to eight, but that would be the closest the Illini would get to the Hoosier lead. IU did most of its damage either in the point or off turnovers. The Hoosiers had 6 steals and scored 24 points off Illinois' 13 turnovers. IU scored 26 of its 43 points in the paint.
