After 20 minutes of action, IU leads Illinois 43-31 in Champaign, Ill.

The Hoosiers went on a 17-1 run from the 15:08 to the 10:54 mark in the opening half to take a 34-15 lead.

Two days after a performance against Northwestern that caused IU Coach Curt Miller to question the confidence of his team, the Hoosiers responded with one of their best offensive halves of the season.

IU shot 15-29 (51.7 percent) from the field. The Hoosiers were 6-of-14 (42.9 percent) from 3-point range and 7-of-8 from the free throw line.

The Hoosiers have been led by freshman guards Alexis Gassion and Larryn Brooks who have combined for 22 points.

Illinois shot 13-of-29 (44.8 percent) from the field, but only 3-of-11 (27.3 percent) from beyond the arc. The team is led by Ivory Crawford who has 12 points.
