IU opened its game against Illinois on a 20-5 run and didn't look back, defeating the Illini 79-61.

The Hoosiers built a 15 point early thanks to some quick hands. The Hoosiers created four steals in the opening 6:51, leading to 13 points off turnovers.

Illinois responded with a 7-0 run of its own to cut IU's lead to eight, but that would be the closest Illinois got to threatening the Hoosier lead the rest of the game.

Freshman guard Larryn Brooks led IU with 20 points. The Hoosiers had four players finish with double-digit scoring.
