Though Michigan's Trey Burke ultimately won out in a much-publicized race for Big Ten Player of the Year against junior guard Victor Oladipo, IU was nonetheless well-represented in the conference awards announced Monday evening.

Oladipo and sophomore forward Cody Zeller were both named First Team All-Big Ten. Oladipo averaged 13.7 points, 6.2 rebounds and a conference-leading 2.2 steals while Zeller posted 16.8 points and 8.2 rebounds per contest.

Burke and Ohio State's Deshaun Thomas were also named to the first team by both the media and coaches. Coaches picked Michigan's Tim Hardaway Jr. for the fifth spot, while the media chose Ohio State's Aaron Craft.

Oladipo was also named Defensive Player of the Year, winning out against Craft, last year's winner.

In other IU honors, junior forward Will Sheehey earned Sixth Man of the Year, freshman guard Kevin "Yogi" Ferrell was on the All-Freshman First Team and senior forward Christina Watford made the Third Team. Senior guard Jordan Hulls was honorable mention, while senior forward Derek Elston earned the Big Ten Sportsmanship award.
