After returning stateside from China last month, it now appears D.J. White is planning to stay a while.

The former IU forward signed a multi-year contract Wednesday with the Boston Celtics after playing four games for them on a 10-day deal. White returned to the United States in February after several months with the Shanghai Sharks in China.

He is averaging 2.8 points and 1.5 rebounds per game for the Celtics.

White has played for three teams in his NBA career along with a stint in the D-League since being drafted out of IU 29th overall in the 2008 NBA Draft. Injuries have prevented him from ever playing more than 58 games in a season.

White starred for four years at IU, earning Big Ten player of the year honors as a senior with averages of 17.4 points and 10.3 rebounds.
