With Michigan State's victory against Michigan on Sunday afternoon, the Wolverines locked themselves in as the No. 8 seed in the Big Ten Tournament.
This solidified Northwestern as the No. 7 team, pitting the Wildcats versus the No. 10 Hoosiers in the first round of the tournament on Thursday. IU beat Northwestern 88-80 in OT on Saturday at Assembly Hall.
Thursday's games:
Game 1 (2:30 p.m. ET, ESPN 2): Michigan (8) vs. Iowa (9) ; winner plays Ohio State (1)
Game 2 (25 mins after 1, ESPN2): Northwestern (7) vs. IU (10); winner plays Purdue (2)
Game 3 (7:30 p.m., BTN): Minnesota (6) vs. Penn State (11); winner plays Michigan State (3)
(Wisconsin and Illinois are seeded fourth and fifth, respectively, and will play on Friday in the quarterfinals)
