In a move that should surprise few, Andrew Means has declared for the 2009 NFL Draft. Means, a redshirt junior and former U center fielder now in the Cincinnati Reds' organization, came back to IU for one more year of football.

There were many last spring who said quietly that Means could have a professional future in football to go along with the obvious one in baseball, and it appears he will test those waters between now and April.

Means has a three-year contract with the Reds, but it won't prevent him from playing professional football to my knowledge should the opportunity arise. I'll have more on this for you if anything develops. Take it easy.
