I had an extremely abbreviated interviews with two new Hoosiers, Blake Monar and Alex Dickerson.

Here's the highlights:

Dickerson on having his Poway (Calif.) High School teammate Drew Leininger on campus with him --

"It wouldn't really matter whether or not I had a teammate with me. The people and atmostphere here are great. It's a great experience that I don't think you can get on the West Coast."

Dickerson listed the college atmosphere and the growing baseball program as his reasons for coming to Bloomington, adding he thinks he can contribute if he plays to his potential.

Monar on the hype surrounding his courting from the Yanks --

"I just didn't get into it at all that much. I just sort of did my thing and let everything else happen."

He said the money from the Yanks wasn't enough to warrant skipping school, and not being a part of building IU baseball saying he wanted to keep the program on its rise.

On his arm and the exhaustion of school and summer ball.

"I think they are going to take it easy on me," adding his lower velocity toward the end of the summer was due to shoulder fatigue.
