Hey folks,

Wow.

Free baseball at Ray Fisher Stadium, and the Hoosiers pulled out an ugly one to keep their season alive, winning 10-8 with two runs in the top of the 10th. Matt Carr was the hero in this one, going 7 2/3 innings and giving up just two unearned runs.

Andrew Means and Chris Hervey added two-out RBIs in the 10th, and the Hoosiers left the field to fight another day.

But it wasn't pretty. Starter Matt Bashore lasted just 2 1/3 innings, giving up six runs, five earned. Together, Bashore and Carr walked 11 batters, and the Hoosiers committed five errors, reverting to their early-season struggles.

I'm waiting on interviews with Carr and Hervey, and then I'll have you a wrap for the Web site. The Hoosiers will play tomorrow at 12:05 p.m. against the lowest-seeded loser from today's winner's bracket (No. 1 Michigan vs. No. 4 Illinois, No. 2 Purdue vs. No. 3 Penn State). Stick with Inside Pitch, we'll be covering the team until there's nothing left to cover.
