Man hospitalized after Tuesday morning crash

The driver of a black 2002 Chevrolet, who officers suspect ran a red light, was taken to the hospital after his car was T-boned Tuesday morning.

The crash happened at the intersection of South Indiana Avenue and East Third Street around 7:45 a.m. Tuesday, police said.

A witness told police the 62-year-old driver of a black 2006 Jeep traveling north on Indiana Avenue had the light, which was turning yellow, but the black Chevrolet did not stop.

IU Police Department Capt. Craig Munroe said the Chevrolet's 51-year-old driver may have some internal injuries but is not in life-threatening condition.

The driver of the Chevrolet was extracted from his vehicle due to the damage.

Munroe said no one was cited for the incident.
