Women's basketball adds walk-on guard

The IU women’s basketball team bolstered its roster with some much-needed depth today by adding junior Grace Withrow, a walk-on player.

The 5-foot-4 guard made the team through an open tryout in the offseason. Withrow, who graduated from Valparaiso High School in 2015, scored more than 1,000 points during her high school career.

With transfer guard Ali Patberg (Notre Dame) and forward Brenna Wise (Pittsburgh) sitting out this season because of NCAA transfer rules, the Hoosiers were left with only nine eligible players on the roster, making depth a definite concern.

Withrow gives the Hoosiers a 10th eligible player for the 2017-18 season.
