Brewtube Comedy will brew up some laughter this Tuesday at Upland Brewing Company’s Wood Shop. Hosted by comedian Dwight Simmons, Brewtube Comedy is a YouTube traveling web show that features local comedians and showcases local breweries.
In each episode, Simmons explores a different brewery and how it crafts its signature beers. He also gets a behind the scenes look at the creative process behind the brewery's branding and the vibe each brewery shoots for as he interviews bar owners and bar goers. Episodes highlight moments from the brewery’s comedy show, held on behalf of Brewtube Comedy.
Along with these episodes, Simmons also blogs about his experiences and favorite drinks from each brewery.
This isn’t Brewtube Comedy's first time in Bloomington, according to Brewtube's blog. Brewtube Comedy and Upland Brewing Company presented a stand-up show as part of Bloomington’s Limestone Comedy Festival in early June. Local comedians, such as Jonas Schrodt, performed alongside comedians such as Tommy Mcnamara from New York and Jessica Hong from New Orleans.
Simmons will emcee Tuesday’s event, according to Brewtube's blog. Comedians on the lineup include Bob Nugent, Stephanie Lochbihler, Mitchell Potts, Jan Gudaitis, Jon Hancuff and Peter Heinz.
Brewtube Comedy starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door, and each ticket purchase includes a free beer.
