Former IU middle blocker Jazzmine McDonald recently signed a contract to play overseas in Switzerland.

McDonald played at IU from 2012-16, and during her collegiate career, she had the second-highest career hitting percentage in school history at .294. In her four years, she had 513 kills and 241 blocks, and she was also named an All-Big Ten Honorable Mention in her senior season.

“I’m so excited for Jazzy signing her contract to play in Switzerland,” IU Coach Sherry Dunbar-Kruzan said in a press release from IU Athletics. “She has worked hard, and volleyball has now paid off in so many ways.”

After McDonald graduated, she played for Team USA in the World University Games in Taiwan. Now, with a professional contract, she will leave for Switzerland to begin her professional career.

“I am extremely excited to be able to represent my family, friends, university and country while playing overseas in Switzerland,” McDonald said in the IU Athletics release. “When I first started volleyball my freshman year, you could have never told me I would be where I am today … I’m stoked to see where this year takes me.”
