On the opening leg of the 800 free, junior Blake Pieroni set a school and Big Ten record time in his 200-yard freestyle leg with a time of 1:30.87. He also became the first ever IU swimmer to break the 1:31.00 mark in the event.

Pieroni teamed with seniors Marwan Elkamash and Anze Tavcar and sophomore Mohamed Samy for a time of 6:13.45. The Hoosiers finished ninth overall.
