Man arrested after allegedly assaulting hospital workers

Bloomington police arrested a man Saturday after he allegedly sexually assaulted two health care workers while he received treatment.

Jay Hardy, 68, is charged with rape and sexual battery.

Hardy, who was intoxicated, had been at Bloomington Hospital just after midnight Saturday to receive treatment for a head injury, Bloomington Police Sgt. George Connolly said.

During the treatment, he allegedly fondled one health care worker’s breasts and grabbed the other’s crotch. A hospital employee flagged down a BPD officer who was in the hospital on a different call, and he apprehended Hardy.

After Hardy’s medical treatment was finished, he was arrested and taken to Monroe County Correctional Center, where he’s held on $15,000 bond.
