Ryan Miller named new assistant coach for women's tennis

Ever since IU Coach Ramiro Azcui made the transition from assistant coach to head coach following the departure of Lin Loring, IU has been looking for someone to fill the assistant position.

Today Azcui made it public that Ryan Miller will be the new assistant coach.

“I am humbled by this opportunity to join the women's tennis staff at Indiana University ... and give back to the institution that has given me so much,” Miller said in a press release from IU Athletics.

Miller was the head coach of the men’s and women’s tennis programs at Hanover College and accumulated a 40-12 record with the women’s program in three seasons. He went 24-0 in conference play as well.

In the last three years he coached the women's team to three regular season conference titles and two tournament titles in 2014 and 2015.

Miller is no stranger to IU, though. He graduated from the University in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and served as a volunteer assistant coach in 2012 and 2014.

“We are delighted to have Ryan back in our program as our new assistant coach,” Azcui said in a press release from IU Athletics. “His knowledge of the program, his passion for college athletics and his energetic coaching style will help us continue the great legacy and tradition at IU.”
