spIUFH

Senior defender Kate Barber was named to Nation Field Hockey Coaches Association All-American First Team on Wednesday after a notable season for IU.

Barber is the second-ever first-team All-American at IU. The other was Kayla Bashore in 2005.

Barber netted 18 goals and totaled 40 points this year. Additionally, she tallied four assists in 20 games played. Barber has already been named to the All-Big Ten First Team, All-Big Ten Tournament Team and NFHCA All-West Region First Team.

She was also chosen to play in the NFHCA's All-Star Senior Game, where she scored an unofficial goal to raise her total this season to 19. Barber ended her time as a Hoosier at fourth all-time in both career goals and points with 28 and 70, respectively.

The senior plans on attending nursing school after graduating from IU with a major in community health.
