Metallica to release double-album Friday

Of every genre of music, the key aspect that sets rock ’n’ roll apart is just how colossal a rock band can become. While you cannot argue with the success of several hip-hop and pop artists of the past and present, they have proven themselves to be minuscule in comparison to the most popular rock groups.

These are bands like Led Zeppelin, the Rolling Stones, Queen, Guns n’ Roses, AC/DC and Metallica. The latter, currently celebrating its 35th anniversary, is set to release its 10th album, “Hardwired ... to Self-Destruct,” Friday.

It has been eight years since the band’s previous record, “Death Magnetic,” and fans have been wondering whether or not the band was still relevant.

However, it appears Metallica will be packing perhaps its biggest punch yet with this new LP.

The band has already dished out songs like “Hardwired,” “Moth Into Flame” and “Atlas, Rise!” which show off just how well the band has aged.

In a music mainstream where old artists are desperately dangling off the frail ends of their glory days, Metallica always knows how to adapt. It go with its gut and release what they’re proud of, and that is the secret to musical immortality.
