IU falls out of AP Poll after loss

Senior guard Kevin "Yogi" Ferrell is fouled by a Wisconsin defender Tuesday at the Kohl Center. The Hoosiers lost 82-79 in overtime.

IU dropped out of this week’s Associated Press Top 25 after a loss at Penn State on Saturday. The Hoosiers also moved down one spot in the USA Today Coaches Poll, to No. 22.

They were previously No. 22 in the AP Poll but were upset by the Nittany Lions, who had just had two Big Ten wins, 68-63 in State College, Pennsylvania.

IU (19-5, 9-2) is now entering its toughest stretch of the season. Iowa, which moved up to No. 4 in the AP Poll, comes to Assembly Hall on Thursday. Then the Hoosiers travel to East Lansing to take on No. 8 Michigan State on Sunday.

Other Top 25 Big Ten teams include No. 2 Maryland and No. 18 Purdue, both of which IU has yet to play this season.
