The Indiana State Police have cancelled a statewide silver alert for missing person Robert L. Thompson.
The cancellation was put into effect by the Madison County Sheriff at 8 a.m. Saturday after Thompson was found, according to the alert.
A silver alert is declared for missing, endangered adults or high-risk missing persons. In order for the statewide alert to be issued, there must be a vehicle involved, according to an Indiana government Web page.
An email sent by ISP early Saturday morning described Thompson as an 81-year-old white male with gray hair and brown eyes. He is 6 feet tall and 200 lbs, according to the alert.
He was last seen at 3:55 p.m. Friday in Pendleton, Indiana, wearing a gray work jacket, light brown pants and white shoes, according to the alert.
Police believed he was driving a 2003 maroon Buick LeSabre with an Indiana license plate reading D983RW.
