Woman arrested for striking an officer

Sarah O. Klopfenstein, 22, of South Bend was arrested early Friday morning on preliminary charges of disorderly conduct, battery and resisting law enforcement, according to a Bloomington Police Department arrest report.

Officers reportedly ?observed Klopfenstein lying face-down on the ground in a parking lot near the intersection of South Lincoln and East Fourth streets shortly after midnight, Lt. Brad Seifers said.

When officers approached her to check on her welfare, she reportedly became argumentative and slapped an officer on his arm. She later kicked an officer and refused to enter a patrol vehicle. She was transported to IU Health Bloomington Hospital for medical clearance and was taken to Monroe County Jail.

The victims had ?complaints of pain but didn’t need medical treatment.
