IU leads 42-34 at halftime, Davis back in Assembly Hall

With Devin Davis watching from behind the bench, IU leads Lamar 42-34 at halftime.

The sophomore forward made his first appearance at Assembly Hall since being struck by a moving car on Nov. 1. He joined his teammates in pregame introductions and team huddles during timeouts.

On the court, James Blackmon, Jr., continued his strong early-season form to lead all scorers with 14 points. Twelve of those came from behind the 3-point line, from which he shot 4-of-5 in the half.

Behind Blackmon, IU was led by junior guard Yogi Ferrell with seven points and sophomore forward Troy Williams with four points. Freshman forward Emmitt Holt recorded four points, two rebounds and a steal in his first three minutes of collegiate action.

The Hoosiers rode Blackmon's shooting to a 17-point lead with five minutes remaining in the half, but a run of turnovers and defensive lapses allowed the Cardinals to cut the deficit.
