Former Hoosier Christian Watford has been waived by the NBA’s Boston Celtics, according to a report from Celtics.com ’s Marc D’Amico.
Watford, who signed a one-year non-guaranteed contract with the Celtics last month, will be placed on the waiver wire, where any team can claim him for 48 hours. If no team makes a claim, Watford will become a free agent.
A four-year starter at IU from 2009-13, Watford spent last season with Hapoel Eilat of the Israeli Basketball Premier League.
He had trials with the Detroit Pistons and Golden State Warriors in the NBA Summer League but failed to secure a contract.
Neither the Celtics nor Watford have confirmed the report.
