IU fans will get their first chance to see the 2014-15 men’s and women’s basketball teams at Hoosier Hysteria.
The open practice/pep rally begins at 6 p.m., but Assembly Hall will open its doors at 5 p.m.
ESPN’s Sage Steele, a 1995 IU graduate, will serve as the emcee for the night for the second time in three years.
The women’s team will take the floor to work out from 5 to 5:30 p.m. to begin the night’s event.
Player introductions, which usually involve music and ?showcases players’ dance moves, will start at 6 p.m.
Following introductions, there is expected to be a 3-point contest for the men and women, followed by a dunk contest and brief scrimmage for the men.
Parking is free at and around Assembly Hall and Memorial Stadium, and IU Athletics is encouraging people to tailgate.
Admission to Hoosier Hysteria is free, but fans are encouraged to bring canned food items to be donated to the Hoosier Hills Food Bank.
After the event has ended, the men’s team will remain in the Assembly Hall concourse area to sign autographs.
For those unable to make it to Assembly Hall, the Big Ten Network will provide digital coverage via its streaming service, BTN Plus, which comes with a paid subscription.
