Moped rider struck by vehicle, admitted to hospital

A 39-year-old man riding a moped was reportedly struck by a vehicle while driving northbound on Lincoln Street at approximately 8:30 a.m. Friday, according to Bloomington Police Department Sgt. Pam Gladish.

The moped operator, Gladish said, failed to stop at a stop sign at 10th and Lincoln streets.

The driver of the other vehicle, a 35-year-old man, did not stop in time and hit the driver of the moped from a side.

The moped rider did not appear to have serious injuries at the scene, but upon his transfer to a local hospital, further injury was discovered, Gladish said.

The man was admitted to the hospital.
