2 robberies reported during break

FROM IDS REPORTS

An 18-year-old man reported an attempted robbery with a firearm at about 1 a.m. Jan. 8.

The victim walked into a parking lot at S. Winslow Court when the male suspect fought with the victim, Bloomington Police Department Sgt. George Connolly said.

After an unsuccessful robbery the suspect fled the scene, and the victim later identified the suspect.

A BB gun was recovered in the area, but it is not certain if this was the firearm used in the assault.

Two suspects fled the scene and had to be tackled by officers before they were arrested. Both suspects denied involvement in the assault.

One suspect was arrested for battery misdemeanor and resisting law enforcement, and a juvenile suspect was arrested for resisting law enforcement.

No injuries were reported.

On the morning of Jan. 8, a 22-year-old man was robbed in a wooded area between East 12th and 14th streets.

The victim was found unconscious from alcohol consumption with minor injuries and transported to the hospital.

In the evening when the victim recovered consciousness, he reported being robbed of his wallet but failed to give a description of the male suspect.

The victim has since been released from the hospital.
