Roberson wins Big Ten Offensive Players of the Week after Bucket win

After matching a 70-year old IU record with six passing touchdowns in a 56-36 win against Purdue, sophomore quarterback Tre Roberson was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.

Bob Hoernschemeyer was the last Hoosier quarterback to throw for six touchdowns, achieving the feat in 1943.

Roberson finished 25-37 for 273 yards and had a career-high 154 rushing yards on 21 carries.

The 427 total yards is also a career-high for Roberson and the most total yards for a Hoosier quarterback this season.

This marks the second time a Hoosier has won the award this year.

Sophomore running back Tevin Coleman took home the honor on Nov. 11 after a career-best 215 rushing yards against Illinois.

Roberson helped set several records for the IU offense.

The team had season high 401 rushing yards on 94 total plays. IU set program records in total yards (692) and first downs (42).

The Hoosiers had three players (Roberson along with running backs D’Angelo Roberts and Stephen Houston) run for over 100 yards for the first time in school history.

IU also scored 56 points, the most ever against Purdue.
