Three professors awarded metals

IU President Michael McRobbie presented President’s Medals for Excellence to Anthony Droege, Phillip Tennant and Portia Maultsby, according to an IU press release.

The winners were recognized with silver medals Oct. 8 at the University’s Academic Excellence Dinner.

Droege is a professor emeritus of art at IU South Bend, Tennant is a retired professor from IU-Purdue University Indianapolis’ Herron School of Art and Design and Maultsby is a professor of folklore and ethnomusicology at IU Bloomington.

The President’s Medal for Excellence is the highest honor McRobbie can award, and the medals are given to those who contributed service to IU or have accomplished greatness in the arts, humanities, sciences, education and
industry.
