IUPUI runners pacing for peace at race in Kenya

IUPUI runners will participate in a peace run taking place at Moi University near Eldoret, Kenya, one of the stops on President Michael McRobbie’s visit to Africa. The MUKESCO Peace Run will take place after McRobbie’s trip, on Sept. 28, according to a press release.

Race teams will include Moi University students, runners from local villages and participants from IUPUI and Ball State University.  Each team will be anchored by a champion runner from Eldoret.

Moi University was selected for the peace run because of its reputation as being a “university of peace,” according to a press release.

IU, particularly IUPUI, has been in partnership with Moi University for more than 20 years, particularly through the AMPATH program fighting HIV/AIDS.
