Women arrested for shoplfting while children wait in car

A women was arrested for shoplift Tuesday evening while her children were left in a car in the parking lot, Bloomington Police Department Sgt. Steve Kellams said.

Casey Jo Owen, 29, left her three children --ages 11,10 and 3-- in her car with the window crack at about 10 p.m. while she attempted to steal more than $100 worth of clothing and jewelry from Kohl's. The children were in the car for about 15-20 minutes.

She was arrested, transported and booked. She has been charged with theft.

Child Protective Services was called, and the children were picked up by their grandmother.
