Man reports robbery on walk home

A 25-year-old white male reported a robbery at approximately 2:20 p.m. Saturday. The reported incident occurred earlier that day at approximately 2:30 a.m.

The victim reports he began walking home from a bar on Kirkwood toward his residence on the south side of town.

Friends of the victim were walking back from the bars as well, but none were with him at the time of the incident.

At Fourth Street and Washington Avenue, the victim was struck and left disoriented.
He believes a sum of cash was taken from him as well as a gift card.

A friend of the victim went back to look for him. After he was found, the victim was taken to the hospital with a broken jaw.

Detectives are currently working on establishing whether this robbery is connected with the robbery described in an IU Police Department alert on Saturday.
