IU adds OL/DL for 2013

The IU football program added 6-foot-2, 320 pound offensive/defensive lineman Nate Hoff Monday morning, according to an IU release.

Hoff will join the Hoosiers for the 2013 season and has four years of eligibility.

He graduated from Solon (Ohio) High School in 2011 and played under now IU offensive graduate assistant Ryan Stanchek in 2010. Last year, Hoff attended Naval Academy Preparatory School in Newport, R.I.

According to Rivals.com, Hoff had drawn interest from Michigan State and Notre Dame while in high school. The website also says he committed to the Naval Academy on Jan. 15, 2012.

During his junior year, Hoff recorded 62 tackles and 21 tackles for loss, while leading Solon to a 10-0 regular season record. In that year, he had an 84 percent blocking efficiency on the offensive line with 77 pancakes.

Hoff finished fifth in the heavyweight division of the 2011 Ohio High School Athletic Association Wrestling Championships. He also lettered in track.

Hoff is the 24th commitment in the Class of 2013 for the Hoosiers.
