3rd suspect arrested in Braeside armed robbery

A 17-year-old suspect was arrested and referred to juvenile probation following a seven-month investigation in connection to a September armed robbery.

The 17-year-old, alongside Devyn Diebold — who was preliminarily charged last year for his alleged involvement in the robbery — reportedly entered the victims’ vehicle on Braeside Drive for a marijuana transaction Sept. 5, 2012.

During a November interview with police in Noblesville, the 17-year-old denied involvement with the incident. However, the suspects’ statements gave reason to refer him to juvenile probation, where it will be determined whether the suspect is tried as a juvenile or an adult, Bloomington Police Department Sgt. Joseph Crider said.

Diebold and the juvenile reportedly held knives to the victims’ throats and stole drugs, money as well as the keys to the car.

During the course of the investigation, Diebold and Dominique Burris, who police preliminarily charged with assisting a criminal after allegedly transporting Diebold and the juvenile from the scene of the robbery, provided BPD with the name of the third party involved in the robbery.

Police followed up with the suspect’s statements, making contact with the 17-year-old in Noblesville, Ind., where he lives, and ultimately arrested the suspect at about 3:30 p.m. Monday.
