The victim did not wish to report the rape at the time.
If a rape victim goes to a hospital but does not want to report the rape, the victim can choose to have a rape kit test performed. IUPD will save the test results if the victim ever wishes to proceed with charges.
IU Police Chief Keith Cash said no statute of limitations exists for investigating reported rapes.
