A female student reported she was raped between 11:30 a.m. Friday and 1:30 a.m. Saturday.
The female met a male at a fraternity party, and at some point the two allegedly had non-consensual sex, IU Police Department Chief Keith Cash said.
The location of the rape is currently unknown. It is also unknown whether the male was a member of the fraternity.
The IU Interfraternity Council issued a statement Monday in response to the report.
“We are displeased to hear about any occurrence of sexual assault on campus and within our community,” William Kragie, IFC vice president for communications, said in an email. “With that said, we support IUPD’s investigation of such incidents and serve as a resource to chapters in need of member education on sexual assault and risk management.”
The victim reported the alleged rape at 3:51 a.m. Saturday.
According to police logs, the victim was at Foster Quad when she reported the alleged rape.
