Michael Evans nominated as Interim Dean of the School of Journalism

Interim Provost and Executive Vice President Lauren Robel announced Friday that she will recommend Michael Evans to be Interim Dean of the School of Journalism at the next Board of Trustees meeting, June 21-22.

If chosen, Evans' responsibilities will begin July 1.

Evans currently serves as associate dean of undergraduate studies at the School of Journalism. He has worked with IU since 1995 and at his position in the School of Journalism since 2006.

He is the author of three books and has been published in magazines such as Seventeen, Sports Illustrated for Kids and Family Circle.

Prior to his time at IU, Evans served as managing editor of the Western Massachusetts Magazine and regional editor of the Daily Hampshire Gazette in Massachusetts.
