The results from Tuesday’s city elections are still unknown as Monroe County Election Board members reconvene today to count the remaining votes.
Vote tallying stalled at 2 a.m. Wednesday following a night of confusion and counting issues among some of Bloomington’s voting precincts and the board.
The city switched to paper ballots for this year’s election, Monroe County Clerk Linda Robbins said.
Unlike digital ballots, the paper ballots must be hand-counted at polling sites by the poll inspector and the opposite party poll judge, something some members of the board were not aware of.
