IU Police reveal details in 2nd rape in 2 weeks

A 19-year-old female student reported being raped Saturday in the 1600 block of North Jordan Avenue.

IU Police Department Chief Keith Cash said the incident occurred sometime between 12:45 and 1:15 a.m. at a fraternity house in the area.

Cash said the victim stated she met the two males involved at a
fraternity party.

“We have the names of the two suspects and are awaiting questioning,” Cash said.

Interfraternity Council President Matt Edwards said the organization has no comment on the incidents, but they are deeply concerned about it and hope discussion will continue.

Cash said the case is still under investigation. This case is unrelated to the rape reported in the 1700 block of North Jordan Avenue two weeks ago.

Cash said both suspects and the victim in this case are IU students.
