Her body was found in a wooded area south of County Road 760 East and County Road 740 North, near Newark Baptist Church. The church is about 20 miles west of Bloomington.
The Indiana State Police said Monday they still suspected foul play in Lawson’s death, but no arrests have been made and no suspects have been named.
An autopsy Monday confirmed the victim’s identity, but police have not released the cause of death. Witnesses and persons of interest are currently being interviewed.
“It had been rumored the victim’s death resulted from a domestic dispute with her spouse,” ISP Sergeant Curt Durnil said. “That cannot be confirmed, as the victim was not married.”
Greene County Prosecutor Jarrod Holtsclaw said no other information will be released at this time.
