Sexual assault on campus, victim will not press charges

A female claims to be the victim of a sexual assault that occurred over the weekend, IU Police Department Lt. Craig Munroe said.

According to the police report, the alleged incident occurred around noon Sunday.

However, the victim did not notify police until four hours later, while she was in the hospital.

A sexual assault examination and brief interview were then conducted.
“She is not interested in filing charges,” Munroe said.

The victim told IUPD that the suspect was not unknown but an acquaintance.
Munroe stressed that this particular incident poses no danger to IU students.

The victim informed IUPD that the assault took place in Teter Quad.
