Cutters win 3rd straight title

Sophomore Eric Young hugs Cutters coach Jim Kirkham after their third consecutive Little 500 victory. Young claimed the victory was for everyone who rode for Cutters and Delta Chi, for coach Jim Kirkham and for former Little 500 champion Doug Tate. Tate won Little 500 in 1979, 1980 and 1981 and passed away on April 15, 2009.

The Cutters completed a three-peat Saturday afternoon, winning the 59th running of the Little 500.

Delta Tau Delta, Phi Gamma Delta, Team Major Taylor, Black Key Bulls, Phi Kappa Psi, Delta Upsilon, Alpha Tau Omega, Gray Goat Cycling and Sigma Chi placed in the top ten in that order.

Despite being in the top ten of qualifications, Phi Delta Theta and Acacia fell behind as a result of several wrecks that went on during the course of the race.

Full results are available here.
