Leading scorer returns to Hoosiers

Referee Ed Hightower signals that junior guard Devan Dumes (33) has been ejected during IU's 75-47 loss to Michigan State in East Lansing, Mich. Dumes was ejected after throwing an elbow at Michigan State players.

After serving a team-imposed, two-game suspension for throwing multiple elbows in a game at Michigan State on Feb. 7, junior guard Devan Dumes has been reinstated by IU coach Tom Crean.

Dumes is the team’s leading scorer, averaging 13.8 points per game. The Indianapolis native also leads the Big Ten in 3-point percentage, converting on 49.1 percent of his attempts.

“I am going to play him,” Crean said in a statement Wednesday. “We are looking forward to doing that. I think we have covered the ground that we need to cover and its time to move forward. It is exactly what I hoped would happen and that is where we are at.”

The Hoosiers, with Dumes, play Thursday night at 9 against Wisconsin in Bloomington.
