Web site not letting grad students cast IUSA ballots

The IUSA elections Web site is not allowing several graduate students to vote today. UITS is currently working to fix the problem, IUSA Elections Coordinator Sarah McDonough said.\nThe site seems to be rejecting graduate students based on the usernames they must provide to vote. Apparently, the site does not recognize them as part of the student body, said INdiana presidential candidate David White, who's also a law student.\n"It's unacceptable for any student to be told that they're not a part of the student body," he said. "It's like going downtown to vote and being told you're not an American."\nWhite said graduate students have been told to vote provisionally, but even then they get a message that says the election process has been completed, which leaves them wondering if their vote counted. McDonough said she's looking into the meaning of the message.\nMcDonough encouraged all students to keep trying to vote, and added that elections don't close until 10 p.m. Wednesday, which she said gives students plenty of time to vote.\nWhite, however, is not satisfied. He said that if the problem is not fixed in a timely manner, he might ask IUSA to extend the election. He said it would be difficult for anyone to get the word out to about 10,000 graduate students.\n"How do I fix that?" he said. "It's a nightmare"
